Online Safety

It has been brought to our attention that some of our students may be accessing the website Ome.tv.  This is the second version of a video messaging platform that was previously called Omegle.

Omegle was closed down by the Police force because of the high number of online grooming incidents that resulted from its use. You can read more about this through this BBC link https://www.bbc.com/news/business-67364634.

We recommend that parents consider safety controls on their children’s phones and regularly discuss the importance of online safety.  We will be reiterating these messages through assemblies and the tutor programme.  If you have any concerns about what is on your child’s phone or who may have contacted them, we recommend you report this to the police in the first instance.
